5. Richard Sherman – San Francisco 49ers – 32

His career may be winding down, but Richard Sherman is still an effective zone corner, has history with Joe Woods, and could even move to safety to extend his playing days. Cost will be a major factor, but Sherman would make a difference.

4. D.J. Hayden – Jacksonville Jaguars – 30

Hayden went 12th overall in 2013 and didn’t play well until 2018 and 2019 with the Jags. He wasn’t good in 2020, but he also missed 11 games. He’d likely come very cheap to play the slot.

3. William Jackson III – Cincinnati Bengals – 28

Jackson was fantastic as a rookie, and while he hasn’t replicated that performance since, he is a solid player who would be a great fit opposite of Ward. Whether the Browns would be willing to pay what he’ll demand is another question.

2. Vernon Hargreaves III – Houston Texans – 25

There’s no getting around the fact that Hargreaves, drafted 11th overall in 2016, is a bust. He was bad in Tampa Bay and has been even worse in Houston. There is still talent there, and he’d likely cost next to nothing.

1. Darqueze Dennard – Atlanta Falcons – 29

Last year, Dennard remained on the market until August, when he signed for just $1 million. He missed eight games, but when he was on the field, he provided solid play, just as he did for six years with the Bengals.

Next. Browns rumored to moving on from Rashard Higgins. dark

The Browns will likely be signing at least one, if not multiple players on this list. It just depends on how much they plan on spending to solidify the defensive backfield.
