Cleveland Browns wide receiver Ryan Switzer updated his fans on the health of his 9-month old son, and the news was encouraging

Ryan Switzer is an easy guy to root for. Added to the Cleveland Browns late last season, Switzer has spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, and Pittsburgh Steelers as a wideout and kick returner. Cleveland had hoped he would provide a spark in both areas but Switzer was injured before being able to make it to a regular-season game with the Browns.

Even without playing for the team, he’s been welcomed by the Dawg Pound — especially when it comes to social media, where Switzer is very active. While he’s usually a fun follow who is uplifting and engaging, Switzer was calling to his fans on Twitter for support as he and his wife, Gabbie, were seeking prayers for their nine-month-old son Christian.

The youngest Switzer had to have surgery as a GI specialist found several sources of bleeding after Christian woke up in his own blood. Ryan Switzer pointed out that COVID protocols only allowed one parent with their son, so his wife was back with their child and Switzer was left to just worry and pray.

Thankfully, he shared another update on Monday, and the news was good.

Switzer and his wife said they were “overwhelmed by the amount of people who have reached out in support of Christian” which is encouraging. Oftentimes, Twitter and social media, in general, can turn ugly. When there’s a lack of face-to-face interaction, people can be careless with their words.

That being said, it’s nice to see how many people were moved by the story shared by the Switzer family. Here’s to hoping young Christian only improves from here on out.
