2. Quinton Jefferson, Defensive Tackle

With so much talent on the Buffalo Bills roster, a piece they could no longer justify was a defensive tackle, Quinton Jefferson. On the other hand, the Browns could very well be in the market for the same position. With Larry Ogunjobi headed to the open market, the Browns are down to three players at the position, and there is the belief that Sheldon Richardson could be a cap casualty of the Browns.

Jefferson didn’t see as much field action in Buffalo as he would have liked, but he is certainly a strong interior defensive lineman who will find himself a role somewhere. Jefferson is solid at 6-foot-4, 291 pounds, but still has the athleticism to rush the passer and knows how to stop the run.

Ogunjobi has been a guy who is great at times, but terrible at others. The inconsistency has been too much, and a guy like Jefferson on the market could be the perfect scenario to end his days in Cleveland.

Jefferson is another guy who could be looking for a prove-it deal. At age 27 and a lower cap in 2021, Jefferson would benefit from going somewhere for a year where he can see a lot of playing time and then go for the big long-term deal in 2022.

If the Browns decide to part ways with Ogunjobi, Jefferson would be the perfect fit to go with Andrew Billings and Richardson if the Browns don’t move on. You can never have too many defensive linemen, especially interior ones who can rush the passer.

The Jefferson scenario becomes much more likely if the Browns decide to move on from Richardson which would be tough for Browns fans, but likely the right move going forward.
