Larry Ogunjobi is likely on his way out but these three free agents could be replacements for the Cleveland Browns

Free agency begins on March 17 and when it does, the Cleveland Browns will likely be saying goodbye to defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi. A third-round pick back in 2017, Ogunjobi has been a full-time starter since his second season in the league and has 180 tackles and 14.5 sacks for the Browns.

Having said that, he’s coming off his least effective season as a pro and signs are pointing to Cleveland going in a different direction in 2021. A fan favorite, Larry O will be missed but that’s the business.

And with that being the case, we look ahead to what the Browns could have in mind with three potential replacements at defensive tackle.

3. Shelby Harris

This is a name that keeps being mentioned with the Browns and for good reason. Shelby Harris is a solid fit on the Cleveland defensive line as he’s developed from a former seventh-round pick to one of the better interior pass rushers in the AFC.

Originally picked by the Raiders back in 2014, Harris spent two seasons there and then had a cup of coffee with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets. Eventually, he found a home with the Denver Broncos, where he has been the past four seasons.

His best campaign from a statistics standpoint was in 2019 when he had 49 tackles and six sacks. However, he was still generating plenty of heat as a pass rusher in 2020 as Pro Football Reference credited him with 17 quarterback pressures and six hurries — both of which were higher numbers than the previous season even though he had just 2.5 sacks.

At 6-foot-2 and 290-pounds, Harris wouldn’t be a one-technique meaning he would split time with Sheldon Richardson (assuming he’s kept on the roster) on early downs but he can line up next to him on third downs and give Cleveland a great duo when it comes to interior rushing.
