Carolina Panthers – Curtis Samuel, Wide Receiver

Easy, slam dunk, home run pick here from the Carolina Panthers free agency class. Curtis Samuel has blossomed into an underrated star this season for the Panthers. Samuel was a crucial part of the offense whether that was as a receiver or as a running back. With Christian McCaffrey going down early in the year we saw a lot of guys, like Curtis Samuel and Mike Davis, step up in 2020.

Samuel has been gradually improving year after year throughout his career and has almost broken through that glass ceiling. The former second round pick out of Ohio State finished his 2020 campaign with 77 catches for 851 yards and three touchdowns through the air and finished with 41 carries for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

At only 24 years old, Samuel has a lot of room to grow and would make a great weapon for any team. With the value of receivers hitting the market this offseason, he shouldn’t be asking for anything absolutely outrageous or unreasonable.

Having a receiving corps of Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry and Curtis Samuel would make this Browns offense even more electric. Receiver isn’t an absolute need but it’s nice to have several guys that have the potential to put up monster games week in and week out.

Samuel’s a great gadget player who adds another dimension to the offense and one that would give Baker yet another guy that he can spread the ball to. His speed and acceleration are incredible and that’s what this offense is missing.
