The Cleveland Browns will have to be creative, but Andrew Berry can still make these three moves before the 2021 NFL Draft.

Cleveland Browns general manager, Andrew Berry, is once again showing off his skills. While the Browns haven’t been extremely active this offseason, they have added pieces where it matters most, and been conscious of the cap while doing so.

This biggest splash was John Johnson, a safety the Browns desperately needed who is as good in pass coverage as any other safety in the league. Then Berry added Troy Hill, a defensive back who will fill in as the nickel back. Both Johnson and Hill are coming from the Las Angeles Rams who had one of the best passing defenses in the league last year.

Berry also retained linebacker Malcolm Smith on another one-year deal to bring a veteran presence to the locker room. Smith will likely see 30-40 percent of defensive snaps, but he can be a tool and resource for the young linebackers on the roster.

Berry also answered a big question on offense by bringing back long-time Cleveland Brown and fan favorite, Rashard Higgins. With the wide-receiver market being soft this year, Higgins was unable to find a better option and eventually decided to stay at home. Higgins and Baker Mayfield have developed a strong bond, which likely helped seal the deal.

While there have been many moves that have drastically improved the team, there are still a few deals to be done to get this team ready to win a Super Bowl. With $10 million left in the salary cap, don’t think for a second that will slow Berry down.
