1. Another friend for Myles Garrett

Before everyone yells at me, I know we already signed Takk McKinley. And I’ll also add that I think he is a perfect fit for the Browns, and it was a great signing. McKinley has proven that he can play in the NFL, and the Browns got him at a great value.  A true win/win for the player and organization.

McKinley, who had 13 sacks in his first two NFL seasons gets a fresh start, and the Browns get a first-round talent at a discounted price. And while the Browns did well, there is still room for improvement at the position.

With many teams having salary cap concerns in 2021, the Browns could also land another massive talent at a discount. Where guys like Jadeveon Clowney, Carlos Dunlap, and Melvin Ingram would have demanded $10 plus million per year, you may be able to sign a guy like that in the $8-9 million per year range.

Berry would have to get creative to make this work, but as mentioned above, it is certainly possible. Clowney seems like a long shot because he turned down the Browns last year.  But veterans like Ingram and Dunlap could certainly be in play.

The Browns aren’t swimming in cap space, but they can certainly make things work. They need to do it now before singing Mayfield and Denzel Ward next offseason.
