Cleveland Browns make another savvy move, sign linebacker Anthony Walker

The Cleveland Browns added a linebacker on Friday
Andrew Berry continues to work hard to improve the Cleveland Browns defense as he adds linebacker, Anthony Walker to the roster. Walker is entering his fifth year in the league and has been a high contributor to the Colts for three of those years.
Walker comes in on a one-year deal for $3.5 million and will be looking to earn himself a bigger payday in 2022 with another strong year.
He and Jacob Phillips now look to be the likely day-one starters with B.J. Goodson now very unlikely to return to the team.
Truthfully, Walker is exactly what Goodson brought to the team and brings a slightly more side-to-side speed. Walker is known for being great in the run game, as he has had 100 plus tackles in two of his three years where he started for the Colts.
Like Goodson, Walker isn’t known for his coverage skills, but he has the tools to improve in the right system. Remember, Goodson struggled to begin last season, and really stepped it up and improved towards the end of the season in coverage.
With the Browns planning to shift to a dime scheme guys like Mack Wilson, Sione Takitaki, and Malcolm Smith will likely see limited snaps in 2021 barring injury.
While Walker may not be a name that Browns fans are familiar with, this is another brilliant signing by Berry. Walker will be an instant contributor to the team and fills a big hole that the Browns needed to be filled.
With just over $5 million in cap space left, the Browns could be limited on any additional moves this free agency.
