The Cleveland Browns roster will be better in 2021, but which players will benefit most from the offseason moves made by this front office?

Not only did the Cleveland Browns roster get more talented from free agency moves, other players on the roster will also benefit. One of the most sought-after traits in any player is not only the ability to perform on the field but the ability to make others around them better.

All Cavalier fans know this all too well, after so many years of watching LeBron James take average teams to the NBA Finals.

Check out the four players on the Browns 2021 roster that will benefit the most from the additions brought in by Andrew Berry this offseason.

4. Jordan Elliott – Defensive Tackle

While my initial reaction was that second-year defensive tackle, Jordan Elliott, may be upset by the signing of veteran defensive tackle Malik Jackson, now I see it as he will be the beneficiary of Jackson on the roster.

With nine years of experience in the NFL, Jackson brings a veteran presence to the Browns defense that was much needed. Jackson brings depth to the interior of the defensive line and will likely be a huge contributor in 2021. While he will be a contributor, it will be on a limited basis because of the depth.

Sheldon Richardson and Andrew Billings will be the likely starters, but now Jackson and Elliott will be a tremendous backup tandem. Not only will Elliott learn from Jackson, but it will also keep him from being thrown in the fire to help with better development.

Elliott showed a ton of potential as a rookie in 2020, but he also had moments where you could see he wasn’t ready to be on the field. With more depth at the position, the Browns will be able to coach Elliott properly and can utilize him when needed, and not force progression.

Once Elliott proves he is ready for more game action, the Browns defense will now also be able to flex Richardson to the edge when needed as well. One thing is for sure, you can never have enough good defensive lineman in the NFL.
