Four Cleveland Browns players ready to break out in 2021

Is there any franchise in the NFL with more excitement than the Cleveland Browns for 2021? Yes, there are teams who will have better odds to win the Super Bowl, but when you look at where this team was in 2017, and then the backward steps in 2019 again, to be where we are is nothing short of amazing.

General manager Andrew Berry has shown he has the skillset and creativity to keep the roster loaded with talent and head coach Kevin Stefanski has proven early he has full command of the team. After an amazing 2020 season that ended with the team’s first playoff win since 1994, I as many others expect 2021 to be a very special season.

Here are four players that will have breakout seasons to help this come true.

4. Grant Delpit, Safety

No team was hit harder with the injury bug in 2020 than the Cleveland Browns. They had constant COVID-19 battles that made players miss games, and two starters on defense didn’t play a single snap.  One of those guys was the 2020 second-round draft pick, Grant Delpit.

After the 2018 college season, many expected Delpit to enter the draft and likely be a top 15 pick. But after electing to return to LSU for his senior year and eventually win a National Championship, he saw his draft stock drop.

Delpit played most of the season on a high ankle sprain and didn’t have the same quickness and tackling ability that everyone saw in 2018. After falling to the Browns in the second round last year, Delpit suffered an Achilles injury early in training camp after looking so good.

Now with a full year to recover from both injuries, and in the perfect system for his game, look for Delpit to have a monster first year in the NFL. Delpit will be able to stand out as he will help in run support and be flying around the field in pass coverage.

Look for Delpit to have 80 plus tackles and three interceptions in his rookie campaign and be in strong consideration for a pro-bowl appearance.
