Enhancing the Experience?

No more than Goodell’s announcement came out, so too did the condemnations. These condemnations came from an unusual source – the players.

And who could blame them? If we signed a contract to get paid for a month’s work, then we were told we would have to work for a month and a half we would be upset too. Then, on top of that, we would be told the pay would be same, except it would be spread out over a month and a half?

We might be mad enough to say what Alvin Kamara said:

Or we could take a more relaxed approach and go with the flow. You know, to avoid heart attacks and high blood pressure. Or we could take a more shocked approach as if we didn’t know we already gave The Man the power to do this to us.

The NFL Players Association and the owners are now in this for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer. Although we all know it will be for richer and not poorer.

The players, like any red blooded American, object to expanding the work day without additional compensation. The players, like any red blooded American, want a bigger piece of the action if they are going to leave a bigger piece of their life on the field.

How does that marriage vow go again? Oh that is it, and “in sickness and in health”. Well with a 17 game season there is about to be a lot of sickness and not much health.
