Cleveland Browns can attack NFL Draft in plethora of ways
The Cleveland Browns have had an impressive offseason, how can that continue through the draft? The good news is, it can happen in many different ways
Cleveland Browns general manger Andrew Berry has had a free agency to remember, yet again. It was obvious that the defense needed serious TLC if they want any chance to compete for a championship. Berry was well aware of this, and made it his goal to change the narrative of the defense.
Berry could not have set this draft up to be easier. Every major weak point of the roster has been fixed or at least bolstered through free agency, so what does that leave for the draft?
Play it safe
There are a handful of different ways the Browns can attack this draft, and they are all in quite different directions. One way Berry may go with is to simply trade back.
A majority of the players that could instantly make an impact for the Browns are more than likely going to be gone before the 26th pick. Players like Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah or South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn are players high on Cleveland’s radar, but are looking like top 20 picks. With how good this free agency went, it is highly unnecessary to reach for a need.
If there is nobody the Browns are 100 percent sold on at pick 26, they should seriously consider trading back to acquire more picks for depth.
