3 Free agents the Cleveland Browns should have signed

While the Cleveland Browns have held their own the last two offseasons in free agency, there is always room for improvement, right? The biggest thing to remember if you’re a Browns fan, just four years ago the team was coming off an 0-16 record with no fix in sight.

While the John Dorsey era may have not ended the way fans wanted, there is no doubt he brought in a ton of talent. Now, he did overpay at times and bring in some questionable characters, but he put together a roster with more talent than fans have ever seen.

Now after just one short season together, the Browns have found a general manager (Andrew Berry) and head coach (Kevin Stefanski), which appears to be the long-term fix.

Berry has shown in two free agencies and one draft that he has a knack for identifying talent, and the creativeness to manage the cap. He has continued to front-load contracts and stay under the cap while allowing room to sign current players to extensions.

I’m not sure I can put into words what Stefanski has done for this organization. His offense is old school, but effective, especially for the personnel the Browns have. He has a coolness and calmness that is infectious, and he will never be outcoached.

The biggest takeaway from the Browns in 2020, they had fun playing the game and there was great continuity on the team. And, they won the tight games at the end.  In my mind, that has so much to do with the coaching.

With that being said, you can’t win them all. Here are three free agents the Browns missed out on in the 2021 offseason they will regret the most.
