John Brown – Wide Receiver

I’m going to get a lot of hate here because everyone loves Rashard Higgins, but I do think the Browns will regret not signing another guy that can beat man-to-man coverage. The biggest issue the Browns had last year was teams who were able to just lock up their wide receivers.

Higgins will be great to have back, but I think a guy like John Brown would have been a better addition and wouldn’t have cost that much more money. Brown would have fit nicely in the slot position and would have been a major threat on deep routes.

Brown is undersized, but remember, the Browns could have turned to Donovan Peoples-Jones in red zone opportunities who has a much bigger frame.

When you look at the roster, the Browns have so many pass-catching threats, the biggest issue is getting everybody touches. The other issue is they don’t fit the Kevin Stefanski scheme very well.

As much as everyone will hate it, look for this to be a position group that is blown up in the offseason. There is a lot of talent and a lot of money being spent for guys that don’t necessarily mesh in Cleveland.

Hey, who knows, maybe Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham will be healthy all year and each has 1,100 yards receiving and six touchdowns. I certainly hope that’s the case.
