Cleveland Browns mock draft: Browns trade up and down in 2021 NFL Mock
By Sam Penix
Johnson was a bit of a late riser this season, and while he is not a great athlete, he actually resembles John Johnson III quite closely both physically and skillset-wise. He’d play the box safety or ROVER role with the versatility to man the slot and rotate up to free safety. The more options Woods has with the defensive backs, the more creative he can get, and the more pressure he can dial up.
Griffin tested much worse than his tape would indicate. He’s a sticky and fluid player in man coverage, but is just 176 pounds at 5-11. At this point in the draft, it’s worth seeing if he can add some mass to his frame and provide some quality depth.
Marshall was not the most productive collegiate player, but he provides good size at 6-3 310 pounds to go along with elite explosion and speed for a defensive tackle. The Browns don’t really have room for a high pick at the position this season, but a late-rounder is a different story.
With this class, the Browns find at least two instant impact players along with talented depth and a high-value asset for next year. Perhaps the team won’t make these exact deals, but it would be a surprise if Cleveland did not move around more than once.
