This meeting could be to seal the deal between the Cleveland Browns and Jadeveon Clowney.

This time, it could be for real.

The big news on Sunday night is the Cleveland Browns are once again working to set up a meeting with arguably the top free agent remaining, Jadeveon Clowney.

With this being the second meeting, things appear to really be heating up and many are speculating a deal could be finalized Monday.

What would a signing of Clowney mean for the Browns?

Well, a few things. One, the Browns are now in a position where they can draft the best available player in the 2021 NFL Draft. If they can add Clowney, there are really no glaring holes on the entire roster.

Two, Berry is now in a position of power. If a team is desperate for a player at No. 26, there’s no shame in trading back and collecting additional players in the third and fourth rounds. While I’m normally not a fan of trading back, it really could make a ton of sense in 2021 with the addition of Clowney.

What are the concerns for Clowney?

Well one, he had a very dramatic offseason in 2020 trying to pick a team. There were reports that he snubbed the Cleveland Browns and ended up in Tennessee where he had zero sacks and only played in eight games. So, consistency of staying on the field, and production will be the big things to watch for.

Why will Clowney work out in Cleveland?

Some have their doubts, but I honestly love the potential pickup. He can now go back to the role of playing the number two guy just like when he was in Houston with J.J. Watt.

Remember, he had back-to-back seasons with 9-plus sacks and is an elite run stopper.

Next. 4 Browns players who should change their number. dark

Let’s hope that Andrew Berry is finally able to seal the deal, this could push the Browns to the next level. I’m expecting a one-year $7-8 million deal with major sack incentives.
