4 Cleveland Browns on the hot seat after free agency

2. KhaDarel Hodge, WR
At first glance, the Cleveland Browns didn’t do much at wide receiver. However, they did make a couple of moves that could make it a little harder for some players to make the roster despite their position on the team in 2020.
Cleveland kept KhaDarel Hodge, Rashard Higgins, and JoJo Natson. On top of that, they have a couple of former practice squad players who will be fighting for a spot with Ryan Switzer (who has skills as a return man) and Alexander Hollins (who has ties to Kevin Stefanski going back to Minnesota).
This is without even considering the possible rise of Donovan Peoples-Jones who started to come on as a rookie last season and the return to health of Odell Beckham, Jr. The Browns could also look to add another young player in the draft, all of which puts a player such as Hodge on the chopping block.
There’s clearly something about Hodge this team likes as he’s been sticking around for the past couple of seasons, but overall, he has just 15 receptions for 256 yards in two seasons. He does have the ability to get deep but if he can’t prove to do so with more consistency, the Browns could be inclined to move on.
