There are three cornerbacks on Cleveland’s roster who are guaranteed roster spots in 2021, and one of them (Williams) didn’t play in 2020. The room needs more than just one rookie, and could probably use at least three selections.

Adebo is a player who seems to have been lost in the shuffle of things. He had an excellent 2018 campaign, but wasn’t quite as good in 2019. He opted out of the 2020 season, forgoing his chance to prove his 2018 version was his true self.

At Stanford’s pro day, he tested very well, especially for a bigger corner, standing 6-1 198 pounds. A team can never have too many cornerbacks, and Adebo has the ability to be a very good one.

Speaking of ability, Williams is one of the most athletic players at any position in the class. He provides inside-out versatility and offers all-world potential if he can realize his physical gifts. He is a project, but the juice is well worth the squeeze at this point.

Additionally, the defensive tackle room is barren after the season, with only second-year man Jordan Elliott under contract for 2022. Williams can provide versatile depth this season and move into a larger role next year.
