3 Small school sleepers Cleveland Browns should draft
1. Warren Jackson, Wide receiver, Colorado State
Warren Jackson, a wide receiver from Colorado State, might be one of the most underrated prospects of this entire draft regardless of position. Jackson took the 2020 season off to train for the NFL draft and better every aspect of his game.
With the right development, Jackson can turn into a defensive back’s nightmare. Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 219 pounds, he has an enormous frame and catch radius. Jackson is someone who knows how to utilize the size he is equipped with. His ability to come down with contested 50/50 balls is some of the best in the draft.
In his time at Colorado State University, he managed to acquire quite a few accolades. Some of those include the 2019 All-Mountain West first team, 2020 Maxwell award watch list, Biletnikoff watch list, 2020 preseason All-Mountain West, and 2020 preseason All-Mountain West player of the year.
Jackson might want to put on more weight at that size, but up to this point, his weight has not been a factor in the slightest. Speed and athletic ability are the main questions surrounding Jackson. If he is faced with a large physical corner he may see some issues in creating separation downfield and getting in and out of breaks quickly enough. But at the end of the day, the concerns are fixable.
The Cleveland Browns already have a Colorado State Ram wide receiver in their locker room, Rashard Higgins. With Higgins’ departure possibly coming up after the 2021 season, it may be a good idea to snag the unit we call Warren Jackson.
The Browns are on their way to being one of the most complete teams in the NFL. If they can provide more depth to some positions this offseason, they might have just that.
