With pick No. 26 the Cleveland Browns are in a position to add a talented player, but Andrew Berry should avoid these four guys.

Good morning Cleveland Brown’s fans, draft day is finally here. While the excitement of having a top-10 pick (which we usually have) is gone, the city of Cleveland is buzzing as they get set to host the 2021 NFL draft. The experience won’t quite be the same with COVID-19 impacts, but let’s just be excited to have a little bit of normalcy in our life once again.

General manager, Andrew Berry, has been extremely busy this offseason with a huge focus on bolstering the defense. Now that draft night is here, where will he put his focus?

Many believe that he will continue to solidify the defense, while others think that he may try to find another weapon for Baker Mayfield on the offensive side of the ball. Either way, Berry has earned the trust of fans, and we should just let him work his magic.

While I have full faith in Berry, there are a few prospects he should beware of, especially in round one. See these four prospects that may be tempting, but the Cleveland Browns should pass on at pick No. 26.

4. Jaelan Phillips – Defensive End, Miami

While I don’t believe the Browns will be looking for a pass rusher in the first round after the addition of Jadeveon Clowney, it’s such a coveted position that you just never know. And even though this draft class is as weak as any at the position, there could be a few tempting guys at No. 26.

Perhaps the most talented pass rusher in the draft is Jaelan Phillips from Miami. He has the size, explosiveness, and flexibility to be an elite NFL defensive end.

The big red flag with Phillips, injuries. Not just injuries, but concussions. While it’s unfortunate for this young man, the Browns should not be interested if he happens to fall to them at No. 26.

Phillips would be a great risk/reward for some teams, but not for the Browns who are so close to competing at the highest level.
