5 2021 NFL Draft prospects who would make huge impacts for the Cleveland Browns this season

The 2021 NFL Draft is just hours away, and the Cleveland Browns currently own the 26th overall selection.

The team may not have a glaring immediate need, but there are still plenty of prospects who can fill important roles this season.

Here are five first-round prospects (who could realistically be available when Cleveland is on the clock) who would make a difference as rookies in 2021.

5. Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern

Greedy Williams had a solid rookie campaign, but he missed all of 2020 with a nerve issue in his shoulder that is still not fully healed. It remains to be seen how long Williams will be sidelined, and how long it will take for him to be back to normal from a strength and conditioning standpoint before he even steps back onto the field.

The team signed Troy Hill in free agency, who has been one of the best slot corners over the past few seasons. He’s not a long-term player, but he fills a massive need right now. He has also logged a high number of snaps on the outside, and can play there if needed, but he is better inside.

Greg Newsome has had some issues with injuries which will have to be vetted, and hasn’t played a ton of snaps, but he is perhaps the most fluid defensive back in the class. It’ll take some time for him to adjust to the pro game, but he has all the athletic tools to be an excellent player.
