Analyst: Cleveland Browns a favorite to dethrone Chiefs in AFC

Dan Orlovsky loves what the Cleveland Browns have done this offseason
With the culmination of free agency and the beginning of the draft finally here, the expectations for the Cleveland Browns are higher than ever this season. That sentiment is widespread among fans, players, and even NFL analysts.
Former Lions, Texans, Colts, and Buccaneers quarterback turned analyst, Dan Orlovsky is all in on the Browns hype train.
After the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, Orlovsky voiced his opinion of the new and improved Cleveland Browns team on Twitter.
This favorable tweet was sent out following the Browns’ selection of Northwestern cornerback Greg Newsome II. Newsome, one of the highly touted corners in this year’s class, fell to the Browns at 26 where they stopped his slide.
Newsome was a member of the 2020 First Team All-Big Ten. He only appeared in three games last season, recording 8 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 7 pass breakups, and his only collegiate interception.
Orlovsky has been a huge supporter of the Browns this past postseason, frequently praising them on Twitter and on ESPN’s “Get Up.” He was one of the Baker Mayfield doubters that were proven wrong this season. That change in heart towards the quarterback led to a change in heart regarding the team as a whole.
"Baker Mayfield, this year, went from question mark, to starting quarterback, to unquestioned leader of the Cleveland Browns. – Dan Orlovsky"
Earlier in the season Orlovsky described the team as “awesome” and “legit,” and that was before the additions made in free agency and now through the first round of the draft.
The Browns still have work to do. With eight picks left over the next six rounds, a lot of improvements will be made.
Several high-profile players fell out of the first round and we could very well see the Browns draft another first-round talent at their next pick.
