After the Cleveland Browns landed Greg Newsome II in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and now, they get a wideout and D-line help in the day 2 and 3 mock

Round 2, Pick 59: Dyami Brown, WR, North Carolina

The Cleveland Browns have a lot of wide receivers, but they lack any of any real quality. Odell Beckham Jr. has an injury history, but can be explosive when he’s on the field.

Beyond him, you have Jarvis Landry, who is greatly overpaid for what he brings to the field, Rashard Higgins, who only sees the field when Beckham is injured, and a few other guys who don’t bring much to the table. The Browns fix that problem with their second round selection, taking Dyami Brown out of North Carolina, providing quarterback Baker Mayfield an explosive, playmaking wide receiver that he can rely on.

Brown is a threat every time the ball is snapped, as he can blow past defenders with his speed and ability to make contested catches. He showcased his immense talent at North Carolina, where he caught 20 touchdown passes and had over 1,000 yards receiving in each of his final two seasons as a Tar Heel.

With the Browns best deep threat being Beckham Jr, and his recent injury history still being a concern for 2021, Brown could step in and be a catalyst to open up the top of the offense, allowing head coach Kevin Stefanski to branch out a bit more. The ability to throw the ball deeper a few more times a game would also allow more holes for running backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt to find in the running game.

Overall, selecting Dyami Brown allows the Browns to bolster their receiving corps, and helps them in 2022 and beyond, when the wide receiver room could look much different as they try to make a long-term decision on Landry, Beckham, and others in the wide receiver room.
