Round 4, Pick 132: Israel Mukuamu, CB, South Carolina

Israel Mukuamu isn’t the cornerback prospect that fellow Gamecock Jaycee Horn is, but he is still a very talented player that can do a variety of things for a defense.

While Mukuamu primarily played on the outside during his time at South Carolina, he has some experience playing the nickel cornerback role, and his size also could allow for him to be a good matchup defender against tight ends and bigger wide receivers in the middle of the field.

With the Browns having to potentially face so many quality tight ends in the AFC, both in their own division and potentially on their way through the playoffs, adding a bigger body defensive back would be a smart thing to do.

Round 5, Pick 169: Brenden Jaimes, OT, Nebraska

The Cleveland Browns have a quality offensive line, but you can never have too much depth in certain positions, and the offensive line is one of them.

Brenden Jaimes played left tackle at Nebraska, but he fits at most any offensive lineman position at the NFL level as a backup/rotational piece when needed. While they restructured the contract of Chris Hubbard to keep him around as their swing tackle, Jaimes could be the swing tackle they stash for the long term, but also help fill in at a moment’s notice at either guard position.

Jaimes’ strongest suit is his run blocking, something that Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski both highly covet in their offensive linemen. Pair that with Jaimes learning from one of the best offensive line coaches in the NFL in Bill Callahan, and he would be a great fit for the Cleveland Browns as a developmental player in the sixth round.

Round 6, Pick 211: Garret Wallow, LB, TCU

Garret Wallow is the final Browns selection in this mock draft, and would provide the Cleveland Browns a developmental linebacker to add to the already long list of developmental linebackers on the team.

Wallow’s greatest strength is his lack of fear, always willing to attack and make the big hit. He has good tackling power for his size, but he sometimes lacks the awareness to know what is happening until it is too late to react, leaving him behind the play in pursuit.

Wallow is a very good coverage linebacker, and can stick with most players coming out of the backfield and on intermediate routes all over the field.

dark. Next. Browns add another CB with injury issues in Greg Newsome

Being a late sixth-round pick would mean there is no pressure for Wallow to produce right away, and he could even be stashed on the practice squad while he adjusted to the NFL speed. The Browns definitely have a hole at linebacker,  and a late-round pick that could turn into a rotational contributor one day is never something to complain about.
