Cleveland Browns continue to grab playmakers in Lance Zierlein’s mock draft

After the Cleveland Browns selected Northwestern cornerback, Greg Newsome II, in the first round, championship hopes skyrocketed. With plenty of work left to do on the roster, fans look to day two where the Browns hold three picks, No. 59 in the second round of the NFL Draft and No. 89 and 91 in the third.

Lance Zierlein, an NFL Media Draft Analyst, released his second and third-round mock draft following the fallout of round one. With all of the big names that fell getting picked early, the board did not land well for the Browns.

In his mock, Cleveland took Levi Onwuzurike, the interior defensive lineman out of the University of Washington, at 59 overall. Onwuzurike falls between the Chiefs selecting Dyami Brown and the Saints selecting Kelvin Joseph.

Moving to the third round, there weren’t very many notable players fall, outside of Alabama linebacker Dylan Moses. The Cleveland Browns own two third-round picks, number 89 and number 91 overall. The theme of defense continues for the Browns in this mock as they select their third defensive player of the draft. This time, it’s Dayo Odeyingbo, the defensive end from Vanderbilt.

At number 91 is where it gets a little interesting. Ever since the fluke loss to the New York Jets, Browns fans and writers have been calling for the team to select a receiver early. In this scenario, it didn’t happen within the first three picks but the run on defensive players stops at their fourth pick.

Zierlein has the Browns selecting a new offensive playmaker in USC wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. The brother of Packers wideout Equanimeous St. Brown, Amon-Ra got a lot of hype as a potential first-round prospect heading into the 2020 college football season.

After a wild first night in Cleveland, day two promises to be even more hectic. You never know what’s going to happen until it already has and that’s the beauty of the NFL Draft.
