The Cleveland Browns did some great work this offseason, but if they were to need any more help, these would be the areas to target

It’s hard to look at the Cleveland Browns roster and think there are any needs at all. General manager Andrew Berry did a fabulous job filling the holes in both free agency and the 2021 NFL Draft.

He added some start players such as Jadeveon Clowney and John Johnson as well as some great role players such as slot cornerback Troy Hill and linebacker Anthony Walker.

Then in the draft, he completed things with the addition of Greg Newsome II, Jeremiah Owusu-Koromoah, and many other rookies.

Having said all that, no roster is perfect. Here, we dive into the three areas where the Browns could stand to add just a little more depth.

Believe it or not, adding James Hudson in the fourth round will actually really help here as his ability to play swing tackle will free up Chris Hubbard to play inside. Hubbard proved last season that he can fill in at guard and the team won’t miss a beat — but unfortunately, his season ended with a serious injury.

In Week 15, Hubbard suffered both a dislocated knee as well as torn ligaments. That’s a pretty big injury to bounce back from and he’s also 30-years-old, meaning he won’t get healthy as quickly as he would like. It’s also likely a safe bet that he will begin the season on the PUP as he continues to rehab from an injury that happened very late in the season.

For that reason, the Browns would be wise to invest in some insurance. Michael Dunn and Blake Hance both performed well in short sample size but the staff would have to be very convinced they were legit before just trotting them out as the primary reserves.
