For the first time since 2017, the Cleveland Browns and Greenbay Packers will face off, this time on Christmas Day during the 2021 season.

The long awaited release of the 2021 NFL season has begun to come to an end, as Week 1 matchups are being released, and schedule “leaks” are occurring across the league. While the official schedule for the Cleveland Browns is set to be released later today, May 12, rumors are flying that the Browns are set to face the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Day, December 25.

This matchup between the Browns and Packers will be the first face-to-face meeting of the two teams since 2017. And is set to be the Brown’s first trip to Lambeau Field since the 2013 game. The Packers are coming off of a season ending loss in the NFC Championship game, while the Browns are coming off of a playoff loss to the Chiefs.

Despite Greenbay coming off of a “hot season”, several questions linger about what veteran players will remain on the roster for the 2021 season. Franchise quarterback, Aaron Rodgers is one of those team members that tenure with the team is being highly questioned. His recent request to be traded has yet to be fulfilled by the team, but questions still remain as to if he will be on the 53 man roster at the end of training camp.

Ahead of the expected Christmas Day matchup, the Browns won’t be focusing on whether or not Rodgers will be behind center, yet they will be preparing for a season that was better to the 2020 season. Cleveland will be entering the 2021 season coming off of an 11-5 regular season record, with a wild card win over the Steelers.
