Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku spotted at UFC 262

With the NFL currently being in its offseason and training camp not yet underway, players are free to spend their limited off days partaking in various activities.

For Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku, that means taking a trip down to Houston, Texas, and sitting ringside for the UFC 262: Oliveira vs Chandler pay-per-view.

During the segments between the end of the Tony Ferguson and Beneil Dariush bout and the beginning of the Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler main event, the cameras panned the crowd showing the packed Toyota Center and its celebrity guests.

The guests included WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg, UFC legend Chuck Liddell, Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson, and Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (who was clearly the best dressed in attendance).

Njoku has expressed his avid UFC fandom on Twitter, tweeting multiple times during main card matches and pay-per-view events.

Njoku, a University of Miami alum, threw up “the U” during his brief cameo.

Njoku is expected to report back to the Browns for their regularly scheduled mandatory veteran minicamps starting on May 24.

In his 2020 campaign with the Browns, Njoku appeared in 13 games and finished the season with 19 receptions for 213 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns.

For the past couple of offseasons, his future in Cleveland has been hazy, as of now he is poised for a bounce-back year under Kevin Stefanski as the Browns look to make another playoff run and vault themselves into Super Bowl contention.

The Browns do have Njoku, Austin Hooper, and Harrison Bryant in a very crowded tight end room but all bring something special to the position. For Njoku, it’s his sheer athleticism and ability to win the contested passes.

He’s also been vastly improved as a blocker, which should only help him see the field more in 2021.
