Cleveland Browns: Jarvis Landry 2021 celebrity softball game set
By Nick Swanson
Following the cancellation of the event in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jarvis Landry will once again host a celebrity softball game in 2021.
The NFL offseason rages on and we’re now in the part of the year where all of the excitement of free agency and the draft has died down and all the focus is on the upcoming preseason schedule.
With training programs underway, it’s the time of year where players are reconnecting with their teammates after their time off. It’s also time for Cleveland Browns wide receiver, Jarvis Landry, to host his annual celebrity softball game.
The lineup is stacked this year with some of the biggest faces in Cleveland sports taking center stage. Current Browns players that will be participating include Kareem Hunt, David Njoku, Denzel Ward, Mack Wilson, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Jedrick Wills.
Cleveland Browns legend Bernie Kosar will also be at the event along with Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland.
The event is currently scheduled to take place on June 12 at Classic Park Stadium in Eastlake, Ohio. The game, which will last seven innings, is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and will be preceded by a home run derby starting at 4 p.m. Gates will be open to the public starting at 2 p.m.
The event is going to benefit the Jarvis Landry Building Winners Foundation and the Lake Health Foundation. This is the second time the event is taking place and the first time since 2019 as last year’s event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, the event will be at full capacity, allowing for more than 6,000 fans, following the lifting of Ohio’s COVID-19 health orders and restrictions.
