Pete Prisco recently released his Top-100 Players list and the Cleveland Browns had a few big names on the list but there were also some omissions

Earlier this week, Pete Prisco of CBS released his Top 100 Players of the 2021 season and the Cleveland Browns found themselves with five names on the list — four of which were offensive players.

Right guard Wyatt Teller came in at No. 96 with left guard Joel Bitonio at 86. There was also wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. at No. 81 with running back Nick Chubb at 63. Of course, Chubb should have been much higher, and having him behind Ezekiel Elliott is comical at this point, but that’s for another day.

The top player for the Browns on the list was defensive end Myles Garrett who came in at No. 9 and might be the most accurately ranked player on the team. Still, there were some others who should have been there as well.

Here are the top-three Cleveland snubs on Prisco’s Top-100 Players list.

3. J.C. Tretter, Center

As good as Wyatt Teller and Joel Bitonio were in 2020, it’s easy to say that two other offensive linemen in Cleveland could have made the list — since they had arguably the best front-five in the NFL.

Jack Conklin was a stud for them at right tackle and finished as one of the best in the NFL at his position. We could make a case for him in the top-100 but instead, we look at J.C. Tretter, the man in the middle.

Centers are often the most overlooked lineman on any team but when a club doesn’t have a good one, things get ugly fast. Thankfully for the Browns, they have one of the best in the NFL. In fact, they had the second-best in the league last year as Tretter was ranked behind only Corey Linsley his former teammate in Green Bay.

Not only is Tretter a solid player who battles through injuries but he’s also one of the smarter players in the NFL and even serves as the president of the NFLPA.
