The Cleveland Browns have been able to get together this offseason to work out, unlike in 2020, and Baker Mayfield is hosting teammates in Austin in preparation for the 2021 season

2020 was a weird year for us all and the NFL offseason was no exception. Teams were unable to meet for offseason workouts, which made it very tough for teams such as the Cleveland Browns to implement a new system.

They still navigated their way through the changes and ended up going 11-5 and winning a playoff game. Now entering their second season under head coach Kevin Stefanski, Cleveland has been able to get together for rookie minicamps and OTAs which is surely going to help them when the season kicks off.

While many of the defensive players have attended those OTAs, much of the offensive players have not. But that doesn’t mean they won’t be ready to roll, especially since they should be working out together in Austin with quarterback Baker Mayfield according to Mary Kay Cabot.

Mayfield is entering his fourth season in the NFL and for the first time, he will have the same head coach and offensive system. As a rookie, Mayfield had Hue Jackson and Gregg Williams for half a season each and then worked with Freddie Kitchens in 2019.

Under Stefanski, he made major strides as a player and in the second half of the 2020 campaign, he was easily one of the top-10 quarterbacks in the league. Mayfield finished with 3,563 and 26 touchdowns against eight picks as he silenced a lot of (but not all) his doubters.

Now, he takes another step in his leadership role as he aims to get his skill players on the same page during these upcoming practices.
