3 things Cleveland Browns must do better in 2021
By Greg Newland
Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski have the Cleveland Browns headed in the right direction. However, they could still improve in these three areas.
The Cleveland Browns enter the 2021 season for the first time in two and a half decades with stability and vision. For so long owner Jimmy and Dee Haslam almost tried too hard and just got in their own way.
Second-year general manager, Andrew Berry, appears to be one of the youngest and brightest in the league. He has managed to add veteran talent while retaining the team’s youth, all while staying under a tight cap in 2021 that saw the first reduction in years.
The Cleveland Browns commander and chief, Kevin Stefanski also enters year two as an NFL head coach after his long tenure of being on the Minnesota Vikings staff. Stefanski brings a level of calm and confidence that is infectious to the entire organization.
Not only does Stefanski have the respect of everyone, but he also has their trust. Two things that are crucial for success in the NFL. You can have all the talent in the world (John Dorsey era), but you must have a general to lead the men to battle.
Along with a stable GM and coach, the Browns also appear to have multiple “franchise” type players. Guys like Baker Mayfield, Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward, and Nick Chubb could be long-term pieces. Garrett is one that could see the franchise go from 0-16 to a Super Bowl title. Anything is possible.
Even though there is so much positive in the organization, we can’t turn a blind eye to a few things that still need correcting. Check out these three things the Browns must improve upon in 2021 to have the success that has become expected.
