Even though the Cleveland Browns have a loaded roster for 2021, these four underdog players could find a way to steal the spotlight.

The Cleveland Browns come into the 2021 season with an absolutely stacked roster. From top to bottom on both sides of the ball, there are very few holes that you can poke holes at. If you compare it across the league, it is safe to say most would agree it is in the top five.

With a great roster comes high expectations, and with high expectations comes a lot of pressure on the players and coaches. The last time expectations were this high, Freddie Kitchens and crew laid an egg in 2019 and finished the season 6-10.

Things are different this year. Baker Mayfield appears to be extremely comfortable; Kevin Stefanski has a certain calm about him that is contagious, and the defense finally added some pieces to the secondary to help Myles Garrett out.

Even with a loaded roster, the Browns will need a few underdogs to shine in order to be successful. These types of players can be the real difference makers from being great to elite and winning a Super Bowl.  Here are four players that could play that role in 2021.

4. Drew Forbes, Offensive Guard

One of the big surprises this year could be interior offensive lineman Drew Forbes. Remember, Forbes came into the 2020 offseason looking to compete for the starting right guard position before opting out for COVID-19.

Please don’t take this out of context, Wyatt Teller and Joel Bitonio will be your starting guards. Truthfully, both could easily be considered for All-Pro accolades next year. However, injuries happen, both Bitonio and Teller missed games in 2021.

Forbes is an extremely athletic guard that fits the zone scheme perfectly. He will be a fantastic interior backup and likely get multiple starts in 2021. I hope I’m wrong, I never want to see injuries, but just being realistic. Don’t be surprised if Forbes ends up being a key part of this offense from time to time and really shinning.
