2. David Njoku, Tight End

Likely the only complaint I have ever had with Stefanski thus far is his utilization of tight end David Njoku. I get that he doesn’t fit his offense the best, but the guy is a freak athlete that needs to be utilized no matter what offense he is in. If nothing else, pad his stats early in the year so you can trade him before the deadline.

Before the start of the 2020 season, you could argue that Njoku wouldn’t see as much playing time because he wasn’t a willing run blocker, but boy did he improve on that throughout the season last year. Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant saw most of the snaps, but there could be a major changing of the guard in 2021.

Hooper is a top-five paid tight end in the league, and he just never seemed to get in sync with Mayfield. I expect that relationship to be much better and him still to be the first tight end on the roster because of his inline blocking skills.

However, look for Njoku to really shine in camp and continue his progression in blocking and easily steal the second tight end spot. In fact, I see Njoku shining so much that Stefanski is forced to run an incredible amount of two-tight end sets just to keep him on the field.

People may have forgotten about the Chief in 2020 but look for a breakout return in 2021.
