Cleveland Browns top first-round draft picks All-Time No. 10: Eric Turner, S, UCLA

Selected No. 2 overall in 1991, Eric Turner proved to be well worth the investment for the Browns. He spent the first five seasons of his NFL career wearing the orange helmet and then made the move to Baltimore as they left Ohio behind. Turner played one season with the Baltimore Ravens before heading to the Oakland Raiders for the final three years of his career.

Turner tragically saw his career and life cut short as he passed away in May of 2000 at just 31-years of age. Stomach cancer ended up being the cause of his death which saw him go much too young.

Nicknamed E-Rock, Turner was a force on the field and was picked higher than any defensive back in nearly 30 years when the Browns chose him out of UCLA. He recorded 84 tackles as a rookie and only saw those numbers increase the next two seasons as he had 119 in his second campaign and 159 the following year.

In 1994, he made the Pro Bowl as a member of the Browns and was an All-Pro player as he led the NFL with nine interceptions — one of which he returned for a 93-yard touchdown. Turner made one more Pro Bowl in 1996 for the Ravens and finished with 30 career pass interceptions.
