The Cleveland Browns will have a mandatory minicamp from June 15th through the 17th and these three players will be worth keeping an eye on during the workouts

Unlike in 2020, the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL are able to hold OTAs. So far, the Browns have had a short voluntary session as well as a rookie minicamp. Now with June 15th here, they will start their mandatory minicamp which will last until the 17th.

During these few days, there will be a lot going on. It will be the first time we see several of the new free agents as well as the first time some of the rookies will go against veterans in camp.

Of course, it will be hard to get a whole lot out of it since these are practices in shorts and without pads but that doesn’t mean we can’t learn a few things. Here we look at four players worth scouting during the OTAs.

4. Malik McDowell, Defensive Tackle

Right now, Malik McDowell is a long-shot to make the 53-man roster but it would be a great story if he did. A star at Michigan State, McDowell was taken 35th overall by the Seattle Seahawks in 2017 but has yet to play in the NFL.

He was injured in an ATV accident before his rookie season and then he had a myriad of legal issues which included several arrests.

However, he now seems to be on the right path, and general manager Andrew Berry decided to bring him in to see if he could revive his career. And at 24-years of age, he could still have a very long career should he be able to make the roster.

What makes McDowell interesting is his insane athletic traits. The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder has incredible size, speed, and power. He has a ton of work ahead of him to prove he deserves this shot — which could be his final chance — and this week will be our first chance to see if he even seems to be close to the same athletic phenom he once was.
