The Cleveland Browns have several big-name stars on their roster but they also have some hidden gems. Here are three players who deserve more attention.

Over the past few seasons, the Cleveland Browns have been working hard to change their fortunes. It started paying off in 2020 as they won 11 games in the regular season and then they knocked the Pittsburgh Steelers out of the playoffs.

As we prepare for the 2021 season, expectations are through the roof for this team thanks in large part to their big-name stars. Players such as Baker Mayfield, Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney, and Odell Beckham, Jr. are all known commodities in the NFL.

However, there are also some players who aren’t as well known that could develop into weapons in the near future. Here we look at three such hidden gems that aren’t getting the love they should.

3. Alex Taylor, Offensive Tackle

After going undrafted in 2020 out of South Carolina State, Alex Taylor landed with the Browns and spent the majority of the season on the practice squad. He was elevated to the active roster for Week 17 and the two playoff games but didn’t see any action.

Entering his second season in the league Taylor isn’t a lock to make this team but that’s due to the talent Cleveland has. Their starters are locked in with Jedrick Wills and Jack Conklin playing at a high-level last season.

There are some concerns about Chris Hubbard after he was injured last year but the Browns addressed this by drafting James Hudson out of Cincinnati in the fourth round. Even with Hudson on the team, Taylor could find himself earning a spot as the fourth tackle.

If so, the Browns would be considered very deep at the position. Taylor offers a great mix of size and athleticism and while he’s raw, he has a lot of the intangibles that cannot be taught. For everything else, he has Bill Callahan who is one of the best offensive line coaches the league has ever seen.

Should Callahan mold Taylor into a refined player, he could have a bright future in the league.
