Expectations are high for Baker Mayfield; can he deliver?

MVP And Super Bowl for Baker Mayfield?
This season there are whispers of Mayfield being considered an MVP of the NFL league candidate. Oh, how a year can alter one’s perception of a player. I certainly believe Mayfield should be in the conversation now. Does he have a chance at the MVP? Absolutely, especially if he can lead the Browns to the playoffs again. The league MVP has usually targeted a quarterback over the past 15 years, so that bodes well for Mayfield.
Mayfield will have to get off to a much better start the first part of the season to be in the running this year, with the likes of Kansas City Chief’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Baltimore Raven’s quarterback Lamar Jackson pushing the envelope as well for the accolade.
But more important to Mayfield, than anything else, is to reach the Super Bowl as the quarterback of the Browns. This past week at the Brown’s minicamp, Mayfield responded to reporters in his press conference, saying “I think everybody that plays the game is striving to be a champion. If you’re not doing that, I think you’re in it for the wrong reasons… you strive to win in everything you do…”
He also mentioned in that same press conference, “I bet on myself, my whole life…” And that type of perspective and outlook on this next season has me excited and not questioning that “boom or bust” possibility for Mayfield any longer.
Instead, I’m questioning, like many of you, when do Mayfield and the Browns reach and win a Super Bowl?
Only, time will tell, but having this question rolling around in our heads is much better then that “boom or bust” thought.
