3 Players Cleveland Browns could trade for ahead of 2021 training camp

The Cleveland Browns have Super Bowl aspirations in 2021 and in order to help them get there, they could target one of these 3 players in a trade
This offseason has led to a lot of positive changes for the Cleveland Browns, which has them thinking about a trip to the Super Bowl. The franchise has never made it to the big game but talk of doing so in 2021 doesn’t feel too far-fetched after they went to the Divisional Round a season ago and have since vastly improved their roster.
Cleveland got much better with the addition of several new defenders including safety John Johnson, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, cornerbacks Troy Hill and Greg Newsome, and linebackers Anthony Walker and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. As great as those moves are, the Browns could look to make their team even better if they were to target a few players who could be on the trading block.
Here we look at three such players who could be picked up before training camp through a trade.
3. Jordan Hicks, LB, Arizona Cardinals
At one point, Jordan Hicks was a prized free-agent addition for the Arizona Cardinals. He was a third-round pick out of Texas who played very well for the Philadelphia Eagles for four seasons before hitting the open market in 2019. The Eagles weren’t happy to lose him but due to injury concerns, they decided not to break the bank and Arizona took a flier on a four-year, $36 million contract.
To date, he has remained healthy and played in all 16 games the past two seasons racking up 268 tackles and four picks over that same span. However, his effectiveness dropped last year and Arizona added Zaven Collins in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft just one season after taking Isaiah Simmons with their first pick.
With a youth movement happening in Arizona, Hicks could very well be on the block and Cleveland could use a veteran linebacker. Sure, they have made some improvements but considering this is a win-now team, it wouldn’t hurt to bring in another experienced linebacker to play alongside Walker.
