Kareem Hunt wants Cleveland Browns to pay Nick Chubb

Kareem Hunt wants the Cleveland Browns to pay his fellow running back, Nick Chubb
There’s no rivalry in the Cleveland Browns running back room. Or at least not one where the backup has any intentions of taking over for the man in front of him.
Cleveland boasts arguably the most dangerous running back duo with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt working together. And while Chubb has been the feature back, Hunt has had no issues with playing second fiddle despite the fact that he once led the NFL in rushing while with the Kansas City Chiefs.
In fact, Hunt wants to see the Browns go ahead and give his teammate a new deal — and had no problem saying so. After telling their team to “pay the man,” Hunt elaborated on why the Browns should do so and the answer was simple. Chubb simply isn’t like other players, and Hunt sees this.
"He’s a freak of nature. And he’s a brother to me, and I love what he does on and off the field. Just a great person and teammate.” — Hunt said about Chubb via Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com"
Hunt, who was at his youth football camp at Willoughby South High School where he was a star player, recently signed an extension himself. Ahead of the 2020 campaign, he agreed to a two-year extension that added $13.25 million to his contract — which was a steal for a player of Hunt’s caliber.
However, a contract for Chubb will be much more difficult to get done. Hunt took a discount deal likely out of gratitude to the Browns for taking a flier on him when he was facing a league suspension. Their faith in his ability to rehab his image was repaid, but Chubb doesn’t need to take anything less than he’s truly worth.
And right now, he’s worth a lot after running for 3,557 yards and 28 touchdowns in his first three seasons. The question for Cleveland is if they should break the bank for him.
As talented as Chubb is, it’s always risky to pay a running back since they tend to wear down from all the abuse they take during their careers.
Still, it would be hard to even fathom Chubb heading elsewhere, which is why the front office might agree with Kareem Hunt and decide it’s best to pay Nick Chubb.
