Nick Chubb, 37th on PFF50 List

Nick Chubb came in a No. 37 on the list, winning great accolades as the top ball carrier in the world, edging even Derrick Henry. PFF says that Henry is better overall because Henry contributes more in the passing game.

Hello! The numbers say otherwise! However, the perception about the Browns two-headed monster is that Hunt is the pass receiving back, and Chubb is the infantry foot soldier. In reality, Chubb has mad skills as a pass receiver, but relatively speaking, Hunt gets more passes than Chubb.

But Chubb had more receiving yards than Henry, even though Henry was targeted much more often than Chubb. The numbers say Chubb contributes much more than Henry in the passing game.

On a per-target basis, it could not be more clear. Chubb produces more than twice as many yards per target than Henry. Likewise, Hunt is more productive than Henry as a pass receiver also. If someone can offer an explanation why we should think Derrick Henry is the best of the three pass receivers, your comments are welcome below.

Player                Targets   Catches  Catch pct  Yds/Target  Rec Yds

NIck Chubb           18                16         88.9%           8.33           150

Kareem Hunt        51               38         74.5%           5.96            304

Derrick Henry       31              19          61.3%          3.67            114

Still, at the end of the day, there is only total respect for Derrick Henry, who deserves any award you want to give to him, and any pay raise you want to give him. If a running back gains 2,000 yards on the ground I have no serious disagreement if you want him to say he is the best player in the world. My only argument is I do not believe he is a better pass catcher than our guy, Nick Chubb. I think that is a frivolous reason to give for preferring Henry.

End of Chubb rant.

Now, what about John Johnson III?
