No. 3 – Taven Bryan, Defensive Tackle

Taven Bryan was the 29th overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018. Out of Florida, everyone knew that Bryan had elite strength, but his overall reaction to the game just wasn’t the same as others.

It’s not apparent if he struggles to understand the concepts, or if he just isn’t motivated to be an NFL player. But one thing is for sure, with a new coach and a new 3-4 defensive scheme, Bryan could be packing his bags before the start of the season.

Is an unmotivated player worth the risk? To this point, Berry hasn’t been willing to take risks like that after watching former GM, John Dorsey, crash and burn from that strategy.

This situation could be different. Defensive tackle is one position where the Browns have a ton of depth, but not as much talent as many rosters in the league. Again, just a change in scenery could be the wake-up call Bryan needs to get his act together.

The opportunity to start and some high-quality coach could be all this guy needs to be a pro-bowl caliber player.  I’m not sold Berry would be willing to take a risk like this, but it is something the Browns should consider because of their weakness at the position.
