Eight Cleveland Browns are rehabbing major injuries this off-season, with the greatest of determination and desire to make it back.

The Cleveland Browns have eight players that we know about who are attempting to come back from major injuries suffered last season. There may be a few others who have not told us about a ligament tear or bone fracture or two.

Football is the hardest game on the planet, and unfortunately, players do get injured and it requires medical assistance to get them back on the field. Here this article lists seven players who you have probably read about already in one form or fashion this offseason plus one other player who is flying so far under the radar you may not have even thought of him as a possibility. He’s not even on the current 90 player roster but he might resurface by playoff time.

In this article, the players are identified, as well as the type of injury as it has been described to us from official team sources and the media. In many cases, we can document for you the medical references that offer information about the likelihood of players with seemingly similar injuries returning to the playing field. There are also comments about the likelihood of each player making the opening day roster or the practice squad.

As always, be warned that you are getting the sportswriter translation of the much more complex science of sports medicine.

The people who actually know what they are talking about are the Browns medical staff, including head team physician James Voos, MD, lead medical team physician Sean Cupp, MD, and Michael Salata, MD, as associate orthopedic team physician, and this author will always defer to their opinion. The problem is that the experts don’t often write articles for the fans, so here we are.

Without further ado, let’s start by discussing the case of offensive lineman Chris Hubbard, who currently does not have a position among the offensive line starters. However, because he is so versatile, it is very believable that he might play more than half the snaps this season if he makes the team.
