Cleveland Browns 53-man roster prediction ahead of 2021 training camp
The Cleveland Browns start training camp at the end of July but that doesn’t mean we can’t already have a prediction of their 53-man roster
On July 27th, the Cleveland Browns will gather in Berea to begin training camp for the 2021 NFL Season. Football is nearly back and for Browns fans, it can’t come soon enough.
Following an 11-5 campaign and a trip to the DIvisional Round of the playoffs, hopes are high in Cleveland — and for good reason.
Of course, with a better team that means making cuts will be more difficult than ever. There will be some good players on the outside looking in, simply due to the increase in talent on this team.
With all that being said, let’s dive into the roster and predict which 53 players will make the cut for Week 1.
This is probably the easiest position to predict. The Browns went with just Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum a season ago and will likely do the same in 2020.
So far (knock on wood), Mayfield has not had to miss a game due to injury so going three deep at quarterback doesn’t make a lot of sense. There’s also no one who is going to push Keenum out of a job. He knows the system and can handle the offense should No. 6 go down.
Look for the Browns to add a third quarterback on the practice squad but using up a spot on the 53-man roster doesn’t seem likely.
