10 players who belong in the Cleveland Browns Hall of Shame
By Greg Newland
No. 3 – Trent Richardson, Running Back
- 2012-2013
Everyone always says you can’t take a running back at No. 3. But Trent Richardson was different, he was a guy that could change an entire offense.
All I have to say to that is, “HA”.
The Browns drafted Richardson at No. 3 in 2012 and had nothing but regret for it.
As a rookie, he had 950 yards and 11 touchdowns, numbers that don’t seem awful, but his average was only 3.6 yards per carry. Bottom line, Jim Brown may have been right when he mentioned he was nothing special.
The only reason Richardson isn’t No.1 on every single list like this created, they fleeced the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick for him. Who the Browns turned into Johnny Manziel…. enough said.
No. 2 – Dwayne Bowe, Wide Receiver
- 2015
Dwayne Bowe was another failed attempt at adding a veteran wide receiver. Stallworth is already on this list, and there are a few others like Devon Bess and Kenny Britt who were very close to making it.
After a wonderful eight-year career with the Kansas City Chiefs, Bowe was ready for something new and wanted one more contract before calling it a career. Unfortunately, he chose Cleveland where he came and should have warrants out for robbing the team.
Bowe managed to appear in seven games, where he had five catches for 53 yards. That’s it, I’m not missing any stats. Bowe quickly fizzled out of the league after that, but what a major disappointment.
