Browns sign first round pick Greg Newsome to 4 year deal

At last, the Browns have finally signed first-round pick Greg Newsome, completing their 2021 class
In what seemed like a bit longer than most people wanted, the Cleveland Browns have signed first-round pick Greg Newsome to a 4-year deal as of Saturday morning.
It’s no mystery that the Browns needed a massive improvement on the defensive side of the ball in the off-season, and they did just that.
Newsome was one of the top cornerbacks going into the draft, as the Browns were able to swoop him up with the 26th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In reading many different analysts’ perspectives on Newsome and what he brings to the table, it seems as if the best way to describe what the Browns are getting is a very fundamentally sound corner who stays attached to the hips of receivers no matter where he is on the football field.
Newsome only had 1 interception in his college career that was riddled by a few injuries, but these little numbers didn’t distract scouts from liking what Newsome has to offer.
His 1 interception came in his final year of college ball, along with 9 pass deflections. Newsome has good height for a corner, another thing scouts can easily fall in love with, as he sits at right around 6-foot-1.
With the Browns making other additional moves in the offseason, who knows what exact role Newsome will have on day 1. Bringing in Troy Hill and John Johnson will help the secondary a ton, and who knows what type of production we will get out of Greedy Williams, if any at all if he can get on the field.
Newsome and current cornerback Denzel Ward have the potential to be a solid duo together, but both must stay healthy and be on the field to help the Browns chase a championship.
