Cleveland Browns: Denzel Ward cracks top-10 CB ratings in Madden 22
By Randy Gurzi
Madden 22 releases in August but the NFL video game is continuing to tease fans with their rating releases, and the Cleveland Browns have a top-10 CB in the game with Denzel Ward finishing 8th overall
The game still isn’t out for roughly a month, but EA Sports is already teasing us with the ratings on some of the top players in the NFL. For the Cleveland Browns and their fans, this has been a blast since several players have been landing in the top-10 at their respective positions.
Most recently, Denzel Ward has found himself cracking the top-10 for cornerbacks as the fourth-year pro is in some pretty elite company according to the game makers.
Madden 22 has been slowly releasing some of the rankings, and Ward came in with an 89 overall, which has him tied with Kendall Fuller of the Washington Football Team eighth overall in the NFL.
Currently, Jalen Ramsey of the Los Angeles Rams is first with a 99 overall followed by Stephon Gilmore of the New England Patriots who is rated a 97. Behind him is Jaire Alexander of the Green Bay Packers with a 95.
Four more players cracked the 90s with Tre’Davious White from Buffalo at 93, Baltimore’s Marlon Humphrey with a 92, Xavien Howard of Miami with a 91, and James Bradberry from the Giants rounding things off with a 90.
The final player in the top-10 is Darius Slay, Jr. who is currently with the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, Ward does top this list in three important categories — speed, acceleration, and agility. Ward, who blew scouts away at the Combine ahead of the 2018 NFL Draft, comes in at a 95 acceleration and 95 agility as well as a 95 in the speed rating — which is the one we all care most about in Madden, right?
Cleveland also has Myles Garrett at a 98, Nick Chubb at 96, and Austin Hooper at an 86 right now. The expectation is that the rest of the ratings will be out this Saturday.
