1. Donovan Peoples-Jones, Wide Receiver

Another position where the Cleveland Browns are pretty deep is at wide receiver. They enter camp with Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham, Jr. as the No. 1 and No. 2 wideouts respectively. Behind them, they have Rashard Higgins who recorded 599 yards last season as well as rookie Anthony Schwartz who showed off his track-star speed ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Then there’s Donovan Peoples-Jones who is entering his second season and has had a lot of eyes on him. As a rookie in 2020, DPJ had 21.7 yards per catch and that kind of deep-threat ability can change the course of any game.

That’s one of the main reasons he’s being tabbed as a potential breakout star and so far in camp, he’s been turning heads. With OBJ still recovering from his torn ACL and Rashard Higgins suffering an ankle injury, Peoples-Jones has been taking advantage of the extra reps, as notated by Mary Kay Cabot.

"“Donovan Peoples-Jones continues to step up with other receivers idle, and Jadeveon Clowney is helping Jedrick Wills Jr. get his gameface on for the season.” — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com"

Mary Kay also said he’s “catching every single thing that comes his way” and praised his hands. Of course, we all saw those hands on display throughout 2020 as Peoples-Jones made several sure-handed grabs, including the game-winning touchdown against Cincinnati in Week 7.

As long as he keeps taking advantage of every opportunity, there’s no reason not to think he can be in line for the third spot on the wide receiving depth chart.
