The Cleveland Browns are still early in their 2021 training camp but these three defensive players are already turning heads with their play

After going 11-5 and winning a playoff game following the 2020 season, the Cleveland Browns are hungry for more this season.

Fully motivated to chase a title this season, they’re working hard at training camp in Berea.

We have already taken some time to look at how the offense is doing with three standouts from that side of the ball, and today we take a moment to identify three defensive players who have been getting the job done in camp.

3. Anthony Walker, Linebacker

Anthony Walker tried to downplay being the “quarterback of the defense” saying it’s simply the guy who gives the plays to the team in the huddle but George M. Thomas sees it as more. The Akron Beacon Journal writer says it shows how much defensive coordinator Joe Woods already has in the linebacker as well as how well Walker already knows the system.

"“Although he doesn’t consider it of significance, it does point to something fundamental – he is comfortable with the defense and the responsibility.” — Thomas, Akron Beacon Journal"

Walker came over from the Indianapolis Colts on a one-year deal after recording 321 tackles over the past three seasons. He’s a stout linebacker and the Browns need as much help as they can get in that department after their linebackers struggled mightily in 2020.

The early praise for Walker coming from coaches and those who have watched the practices is very promising.
