With the Nick Chubb deal finalized, who will Andrew Berry pick to be the next big contract extension for the Cleveland Browns.

If you would have asked me two weeks ago, will the Cleveland Browns extend Nick Chubb, I would have said almost a zero percent chance? I also would have bet money that I would have hated the deal if they did extend him.

Well, I was completely wrong on both. Not only did Andrew Berry find a way to keep Chubb for the next four seasons, but he also did it without breaking the bank. The three-year, $36 million extension is a discount when you look around the league.

Chubb is making the same money per year as a guy like Joe Mixon, and nearly $3 million per year less than Ezekiel Elliott. There are several factors on why this deal got done, but one of the biggest reasons is Chubb knows he can win in Cleveland. The second is he will still be a free agent at the age of 29 with a few years of his prime remaining.

With the first of many deals in the next 12 months getting struck, the big question is, who’s next? There are a few obvious answers, but it’s important to remember that the interior offensive line is all out of contract after 2022, with Wyatt Teller up after this season.

On top of that, Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry both have deals with zero dead money after the 2021 season. Not saying they get resigned, but Berry could be on the hunt for a free agent wide receiver next offseason that will tie up some money as well.

Check out the next 3 contracts that Berry will get done to solidify the Cleveland Browns future.
